Hello, I am Thomas Haviland Member of the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island. I am the mouth of PEI.
I was raised and born in PEI, more specifically the thirteenth of November 1822. I grew up observing the hardships and the joys of us. Islanders. Before I had the opportunity to represent us at the conferences, I must explain my life before now.
I was born into a wealthy family, having life easy and with no worries. Then I found myself bored and at a plateau. To stray away from this life; I traveled to Belgium to learn law and culture.
Law in my eyes is a pacifist way to protect the weak and the needy, but that does not mean that force is not necessary. When words fail we must have the strength to ensure that we do not fall. After learning law, I became the colonel of PEI’s militia. Both an able politician and military strategist, I will see that PEI views and needs are met.
With this information in my mind, I can represent PEI correctly and I did represent PEI correctly.
It is my sincerest wish that the colonies of British North America will confederate. Both to ensure that the Yankee’s know their place and that we grow.
Dear Yankees
What is the difference between a lion and us?
If you bother a lion, only you will die, if you bother us your entire country will burn.

Hello this is the amazing Edward Palmer. I am from the wonderful island call Prince Edward Island because it’s named after me. I am a proud supporter of Confederation. I will tell you about confederation after I tell you about myself.
The day I was born was September 1, 1809 in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. My first language was English and I was Irish I was a layer, a land agent and a judge, and of course a politician. When I started politics I was a Liberal and stayed liberal through the rest of my politic life. I represented the legislature from 1835 to 1870. In 1859 I became the premier of Prince Edward Island. I attended the Quebec and Charlottetown conferences. Going into confederation I was an old age of 58.
Now on to confederation. My colony and I had a few expectations about the lumber, fishing, mining, agriculture, potatoes and shellfish. We wanted 0% of lumber, fishing and mining, 30% agriculture and 100% of potatoes and shellfish. If we get what we want we will most likely join confederation. Some people are debating against the french and not allowing it I think it would be good for kids to learn a second language 85% of Canada East speaks french and around 50% of Nova Scotia's population speaks french.
Just note I like chicken wings(have some at the conference) !

William H Pope

Date of Birth: May 29, 1825
I am William H Pope, a conservative founding father of the underestimated little colony of PEI. I, am like the rest of my other colony fathers, we wish to cooperate and participate in confederation. Raised and born in Bedeque, PEI, I am a true Canadian unlike some of my other fathers. Before I persued the great profession of a founding father, I had a background knowledge of law and persuasion. This made me a fit candidate as a founding father. The glorious process of I, the modest William H Pope of becoming a founding father, came to be today because I was elected to the Assembly.
PEI has always been a proud, self-sufficient colony of hard-working fishermen, ship builders, farmers and engineers. Our self-elected local government has given us pride for decades, but recent ambitious endeavours have shown us a new goal: Confederation. PEI requested sufficient maritime trade as that has been our only source of income. Even though we are a small colony, we still believe we deserve an equal say in the government. Greedy English landlords have been sapping our citizens, so we need them paid off. Every colony has debt, even one as great as PEI. We have built a railroad for better communication and unification throughout our colony. Our main exports are potatoes, sea salt and shellfish, so we need to be the main export of these products. Finally, we need communication to the main land by fleet or bridge.
I firmly support confederation, as it has given us much more benefits not seen before. All our needs are met, except the one of keeping Canada a true English colony. Canada East is wishing to impose their french language on our proud English heritage, reason why confederation did not work out.

Andrew Archibald MacDonald

I am Andrew Archibald MacDonald and I am from Three Rivers, PEI. I was born there on February 14, 1829. I am Roman Catholic. I work as a merchant and a shipbuilder; both family businesses. I was elected a member if the Legislative Assembly of PEI in 1853 to 1858 and I am currently a representative for Georgetown in the House of Commons.
I think that it's important for Confederation to happen so that the colonies in this area can work together and protect our area from the United States. It is also important to Confederate because more trade would take place. It would also make citizens of all of the colonies more culturally aware, helping us learn and grow as people.
In Confederation, PEI asked for an equal share of the government, being the small colony that we are. We also requested for there to be some way to get to the mainland; a bridge connecting us or a larger fleet of boats. this would help with trade and tourism, both helping the economy. We would also like to obtain 100% of the potato and shellfish industry. We would also like to have 30% of agriculture. I have no problems with Canada East wanting to have French added to Canada's national languages. I think that being open to new cultures and experiences should be embraced and accepted.
I believe that we should Confederate to make a country because it would be very beneficial as it would help us with cultural awareness as well as trading opportunities and security.

I am George Coles. I am representing the small island, Prince Edward Island. I am the premier and in the PEI Liberal Party. I was elected from 1851 to 1868. My nationality is Canadian. I was born on September 20, 1810 in Queens Royalty, PEI. My first language was English.
We ask for 100% of potatoes and shellfish, 30% of agriculture, a bridge from us to mainland or a dock and better fleet; and equal rep. We want 0% of lumber, mining and fishing. I wouldn't mind if French was added as a national language because we could talk with people that only speak French.
I think we should confederate because we can protect each other from enemies that are attacking. We could also trade with each other to get more that we couldn't get before.
